As at 30 June 2011, a total of 430 084 628 shares in issue were outstanding. The largest shareholder was ARM Limited which had a holding of 14.9% (63 632 922 shares). The largest institutional shareholder was Blackrock Investment Management (UK) Limited with a holding of 10.8% (46 062 952 shares).
Our South African shareholder base declined to 42% from 45.5% for the year ended 30 June 2011. The combined institutional and retail ownership in the United States totalled 30% (30 June 2010: 26%) of Harmony's issued share capital. Shareholders in the United Kingdom accounted for 18% of shares in issue and the rest of Europe 7% in all.
