Harmony first Doornkop stope commences

Source: I–net Bridge

Gold miner Harmony (HAR) announced that the first stope of the Doonkop South Reef commenced with its scheduled blast.

“It is anticipated that the build–up phase will be slow during the first month as only stope blasting will be performed. The momentum should pick up in months two and three when blasting will increase from three to six stopes,” the group said.

Harmony’s Doornkop South Reef Project involves the deepening of the Doornkop mine shaft to 1,973 metres, to mine and develop towards the mining areas. Capital expenditure is expected at 210 million rand for the next financial year.
