Marian has been a dedicated and passionate member of the Harmony team since February 2003. Appointed to the executive committee in October 2005, she has played a pivotal role in shaping the company’s strategic direction across a broad portfolio that includes enterprise risk management, legal, compliance, combined assurance, and investor relations. Over the years, Marian has also led key functions such as company secretarial, internal audit, staff engagement, and public relations — consistently demonstrating her versatility and commitment to excellence.

Her career began in 1998 as an attorney and conveyancer, with roles at Kilbour Attorneys, Routledge Modise Attorneys (now Hogan Lovells), Deloitte & Touche, and Standard Bank of South Africa Limited. Marian’s influence extends beyond Harmony: she served as a non-executive director on the board of Rand Refinery Proprietary Limited from 2013 to 2017, and contributed to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange’s Social Responsibility Index advisory committee until May 2015.
