Since acquiring the project, Harmony has identified opportunities to enhance the asset and its contribution to stakeholders. These opportunities include the use of renewable power and implementation of an optimised design to potentially deliver greater production volumes. We are prioritising local employment and supplier opportunities in Cloncurry and Mount Isa, where possible.

Public notice

Harmony is seeking approval under the EPBC Act for the Stage 1 Referral Action (EPBC 2026/10587). The Stage 1 Referral Action is designed to support development of Critical Path Activities necessary to achieve first production of copper concentrate from the Project. The Stage 1 Referral Action has been identified as a standalone component of the broader Project, and has been determined to be a controlled action requiring assessment by Preliminary Documentation. The controlling provisions under the EPBC Act are listed threatened species and communities (section 18 and section 18A).

  • Front-end engineering design is complete, and preliminary site works are well advanced with construction expected to take 24 to 30 months.
  • Ongoing community consultation to shape the Eva Copper Community Investment Framework for a structured, transparent and consistent approach to creating shared social value.
