Since acquiring the project, Harmony has identified opportunities to enhance the asset and its contribution to stakeholders. These opportunities include the use of renewable power and implementation of an optimised design to potentially deliver greater production volumes. We are prioritising local employment and supplier opportunities in Cloncurry and Mount Isa, where possible.

Public notification

Harmony (Eva Copper Mine Pty Ltd) has lodged an application for a major amendment to an Environmental Authority in accordance with requirements of the Queensland Environmental Protection Act 1994.  The Environmental Authority being amended is EMPL00899613.

The amendment application is open for public comment from Thursday 5 February 2026 to Friday 6 March 2026  (inclusive – Queensland time). During this period, any person may make a submission about the application.

  • Front-end engineering design is complete, and preliminary site works are well advanced with construction expected to take 24 to 30 months.
  • Ongoing community consultation to shape the Eva Copper Community Investment Framework for a structured, transparent and consistent approach to creating shared social value.

November 24, 2025: Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited announces the completion of the updated Feasibility Study and the approval of the Final Investment Decision (FID) by the Board of Directors for the Eva Copper Project.
