Mine Waste Solutions is a gold tailings retreatment operation that reprocesses low-grade material from old tailings storage facilities (TSFs) scattered across the Vaal River and Stilfontein areas, helping to reduce the overall tailings footprint. The retreated tailings residue is redeposited on the Kareerand tailings storage facility. A project to extend the operating capacity of this facility and its life is nearing completion.
