Joel is a twin-shaft mining operation in the Free State. The mining plan applied allows for selective mining, leaving complex areas unmined and taking into account the stability of footwall development. Mining is focused on the narrow, tabular Beatrix Reef. Ore mined is processed at the Harmony One plant.
