Masimong is a deep-level mine nearing the end of its operating life. The Masimong complex comprises two shafts – one for operational use (5 shaft) and the other (4 shaft) for services such as ventilation, pumping and a second escape route. Masimong exploits the Basal and B Reefs. Ore mined is processed at the nearby Harmony One plant.
