Free State. Monday, 8 December 2008. Harmony Gold Mining Company Limited (Harmony) regretfully announces that a fatal accident occurred at its Bambanani mine in the Free State early on the morning of 3 December 2008.

Work was stopped in the area and management together with the Department of Minerals and Energy commenced investigations on 4 December 2008.

Harmony’s Chief Executive, Graham Briggs and his management team, express their sincere condolences to the family of the deceased.
